Solution Focused Hypnotherapy
is a type of ‘talking therapy’...
that combines the use of psychotherapy with hypnosis. Hypnosis or ‘trance’ is a very natural, relaxing state, encouraged by using guided relaxation, where the mind can relax and then focus on thoughts and suggestions that might be useful.
As a modern psychotherapeutic approach, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy uses practical, structured, and well-researched strategies to help people make significant, positive changes in their lives in a relatively short period of time.
Crucially, in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, working with me as your therapist you will look at what you want to achieve (solutions) rather than at whatever prompted you to seek help in the intial consultation (problems).

A little bit about me...
My name is Anna B. Sexton and I am a Clinical Hypnotherapist and pyschotherapist DSFH HPD. I bring to my practice over 30 years
experience of working with people from all walks of life in classrooms, 1-2-1 as a coach and mentor and through my reiki and theta training.
I have worked on the Anxiety Arts + Mental Health Festival London 2014 with Black men inside Brixton Prison, Union Dance on a drugs and alcohol related dance project with Stereohype, Red Earth Consultancy, Time To Change and Mind.
Over the various lockdowns my sleep patterns went haywire, this slowly crept into my levels of motivation, self care and attention span. I was getting really worried as although I was doing ok at self managing myself I could feel my low mood dipping into more depression and anxiety. Even though I had a good range of 'head health care' tools, I could feel myself unravelling.
WHAT COULD HELP ME?
I asked for help from a close friend who had started her CPHT training and
needed a practice client. I jumped at the chance for the structure of weekly
calls via Zoom, a track to play on my phone before bed and a safe to share.
Slowly over the course of 12 sessions I began to notice small shifts in my mood, stamina, ability to handle stress at work and sleep became a bit better. Something was working - was it the hypnotherapy?
WELL - I DECIDED TO FIND OUT MORE...
In March 2021 started my own student journey with CPHT Liverpool. The process
to gain the full Diploma qualification (DSFH) and the nationally accredited
(NCFE) Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma (HPD) is ongoing until December 2021.
Throughout the course we will complete over 120 hours of classroom study,
practical assessments and submit a thorough portfolio of case studies, written work
and self reflections.
I am now fully qualified holding a Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and Hypnotherapy in practice Diploma.
I am fully insured, hold a fully enhance DBS check for working with vulnerable adults and am registered with ICO (Information Commissioner) to handle all client data within GDPR and best practice guidelines.
